Dr. Axtell’s training included providing more than 3,000 supervised hours of psychotherapy before starting private practice.  Her university and internship programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Axtell has attended several workshops, seminars and conferences on trauma, dissociation, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and much of her  clinical experience has been comprised of working with abuse/trauma survivors.
